You may have blinked and missed it but the Hinterland store for The Long Dark merchandise popped UP…and almost immediately sold out of most things. I can’t blame folks- myself included- many of us have been waiting for this since Covid started. Take heart though: this was meant to clear old stock before they open a new store in 2024, and they may utilize preorders for some future items. (I am super sad I didn’t get the fuzzy fancy sweater though, so if you snagged a small and end up hating it, hit me up 😂)

▻ Backend work across Hashtag is going well. Hate to be vague but seeing how deadlines and due dates blow up for developers, I’ll just say that I hope to have a new content cadence in place soon.

👍 Pick-up: DayZ. It’s expensive enough that a solid sale (40% or more) is the only way to stomach it- you’ll also want to pick up the DLC map Livonia, which is one of my favorite maps for the game. While similar to Rust and SCUM in the PvP shenanigans, I find that if you mod DayZ and find just the right RP or RP-PVP server- the game just sings. (Props if you get the reference.)

A small handful of content creators were approved to show off images from within the Nightingale NDA-locked playtest. (Again to reiterate- don’t share any if you’re in the playtest and not on this approved list.)
The images are pretty, but I just see a Victorian steampunk New World. Hoping it’ll feel differently in hand.

There’s a bunch of new stuff in the latest DayZ patch- plus guns, because again- DayZ. I wonder what they’ll do for the 10-year anniversary. Sounds crazy but a patch of actual content like fixing the fucking way colds work would be great. (Unless it’s been fixed since I last played in which case take my cursing and apply it to something else that bugged me.)

To piggyback on the Snippets posted earlier in the week, the fan/developer that picked up Hold Your Own seems to be prepared to shift the game out of Early Access before benching it.

Sonorous: Deep Down Below showcased a short WIP clip of the modular building, which looks great with strong Stranded Deep vibes. But holy fuck, that construction hammer is fucking huge. (Also the sound is just a little obnoxious.)
