Survival Snippets #45
Ugh, Halloween content. Because zombie games needed more scary shit.
Games of all genres are pushing out their Halloween content patches- don’t forget to log in for limited-time events, gear, or collectibles. (WoW players, time to farm that mount!)

▻ I’m still trudging through my work on the new game directory. You can view the work-in-progress database at this link. THIS IS A NEW LINK.
Remember that many game cards in incomplete at this time. Feedback is incredibly welcome, so hop into the comments or contact me on Discord.
▻ If you’re part of our Discord (and you really should be), don’t forget to tell me if you’re a Substack subscriber so I can give you your role! There is a GAW currently running- the winner wins a copy of The Infected.
▻ Speaking of subscribers, I want to welcome all the new faces brought here by SnowBee’s awesome shoutout (timestamped link) in his most recent video. Did you know we featured SnowBee a few weeks ago in our Acquired Tastes article?
▻ The Curator lists have been axed from the page until the Notion game database is complete. At that point I’ll sit and reorganize everything.

📰 Survival Community Roundup
In our last Snippets, we posted about the delay of Fractured Veil. They’ve released a small announcement on Steam providing the WHY behind the delay.
The Kickstarter page for Groenland is set to launch soon. I’ll pull together an article or something on the game, but it’s billed as “An Open-World Viking Survival Horror game set in the harsh and unforgiving landscape of fantasy designed 15th-century Greenland.”
Content and News
Gotta appreciate the developers of VEIN for these detailed devlog videos.
Obligatory “Icarus drops weekly content patches” followed by my “I should hop back into this game again since it’s been a year.”
Project Zomboid is working on a crafting overhaul. You’ll appreciate my pithy summation once you see the length of their post.
Happy six months in Early Access, Survival: Fountain of Youth!
Dee and I snagged Sons of the Forest on drop - I think out of mistaken fondness for the first title, mixed with us being a mite optimistic as to the state of the sequel. Even with the delays and last-minute alteration to '“early access.” We “beat the story” (such as it was) and quickly benched the game until it leaves EA. I still stand by that choice- and while I don’t read any of the patch notes to avoid learning anything, I occasionally glance through some of the comments. It seems the latest patch broke a bunch of shit? Pikachu shocked face.
It’s been a minute since we played Survive the Nights, but we’ll have to pick it up again when build 1.24 hits the main branch. That pegboard is fucking genius, and I’m excited to try it.
While I appreciate Craft Carnage shifting toward a more realistic look for gathering/foraging- like cutting down trees- I hope the UI aspects on the left side of the screen are just placeholders.
You’ll probably have to log in to view this, but it’s pretty funny. For reference, Dee would be the one mowing down mutants/zombies, my wife would be building (but the song AND dancing is probably spot on), and I’d be...somewhere in between.
