Interestingly, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be released first as an Epic Game Store exclusive. This is a huge nonstarter for many players, meaning they’ll hit the mines when the game is (eventually) released to Steam- which could be a year out. Will you slog to Epic or shelve your dwarvish aspirations until it hits Steam’s familiar shores?
(Cultured Vultures)Wildmender is now live on Steam- on sale until October 5th. I haven’t tried it, but the store page live streams make me think it’s a low-key exploration and gardening game with a sprinkling of minimally impactful survival elements. If you don’t like the upbeat and colorful art styles of games like Palia and Animal Crossing- this may not be the game for you. Cozy sim builders should jive with it, especially if you love plant life!

🌲 Hashtag Survival
▻ Doing a complete 180-degree pivot on our version of the game directory. Our previous game directory was alive for roughly 2 years, and I liked the latest incarnation of it. But it's time to change it up! I’m focusing on working with Becca to create a Notion-hosted database, incorporating our Hashtag Survival filters (Survival Subgenre, Survival Pillars), and scaling down the amount of info and tags. This will make for a cleaner entry page, with less effort and time on my part to maintain- which means it will remain up to date longer! Our latest Rambles featured a video snippet of the new database in action,
▻ Oof, we are close to finishing our Survival Pillars article. It’s been stalled because I’m OCD. Also, I decided to massively overhaul our game database and mesh in the Pillars, which made it mandatory to finish the directory layout- but they don’t quite exist yet. Magic!
▻ MEGA updated the Steam Curator page. Removed all dead website links and updated the majority of the reviews.
▻ I’m on the wrong device right now to try and include a glimpse of the Notion database, but I’ll try and include one for the Dead on Arrival readers. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss the post alert!

Not wowed by the sales options today; instead, I present you with a song!
Enjoy it being stuck in your head. Forever.
(Also, this movie is fantastic.)

(Steam News)SCUM doing the work of the gods!
This game reminds me of those WoW guild adverts that were all “WE DO THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS.” - just a giant fucking mess. Also, this trailer is a little something. Thoughts?
(Steam Store)ICYMI: The Kickstarter campaign for Endzone 2 is still up!
(Kickstarter)A slew of images in the latest news post from No One Survived. The map looks mighty big…and empty.
(Steam News)Fractured Veil showcased a new social area- a spot for players congegrate that is No-Build, No-PvP, and mostly danger-free. Emphasis theirs. Looks like a neat little spot to explore and engage in some RP before leaving the zone and having your head bashed in by an apocalyptic Hawaiian weapon.
(Steam News)Be sure to head to the beta branch for The Infected to check out some of the new content. Slated for the live branch of the game by the end of next week.
(Hashtag Survival)Speaking of building decor, Icarus also added a bunch of decor tweaks. But you already knew that because we all know that Icarus adds a patch every single week.

Survival Snippets #42
Well I have been intrigued by the lord of the rings Moria game since I first saw it teased a long time ago. Still unsure if I will jump on the Epic store offer before I have had a chance to check the gameplay out first. But still excited for what it has the potential to be. Let's just hope it's not just a worse version of that other dwarven mining/fighting bugs game (you know which one I mean, I just can't remember the name) And let's all hope it shapes up to be much better then the flaming Trainwreck that the Gollum game is looking to be.
