I totally agree, I also think the game should have a special element on top of all this to set it apart, I would go for a well-written story and its unique events.
100% agree with the pillars you laid out. Those are actually the parts I mostly look for in survival games. There aren't that many games that cover a lot of them unfortunately.
Only a few game genres are as broadly occupied as the survival genre. Far too many developers are committed to “survial”. The character is hungry ... survival ... Oh you can die ... survival ... There is bad weather (usually just for showmanship and added by the engine without much effort) ... survival.
